Thoughtful, Trauma-Informed Therapy in Ann Arbor, Michigan
Helping adults better understand themselves through collaborative, affirming therapy rooted in insight, context, and meaningful change.
Understanding the deeper picture
Many of the people I work with have spent years feeling misunderstood, chronically overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or unsure why previous therapy or treatment never fully explained what they were experiencing.
My approach focuses on helping clients connect the dots between trauma, relationships, identity, neurodivergence, coping patterns, nervous system responses, and present-day symptoms.
Rather than viewing symptoms in isolation, therapy becomes a space to better understand the broader context shaping your experiences in ways that reduce shame and support meaningful, sustainable change.
A core part of my work is thoughtful ongoing assessment. As therapy unfolds, deeper patterns and more nuanced understandings often emerge that can significantly shift self-understanding, treatment direction, and healing.
Areas I often support clients with
Many clients come to therapy feeling like pieces of their experiences have never fully fit together. Therapy can offer space to better understand those patterns with compassion, clarity, and context.
anxiety and chronic overwhelm
trauma and nervous system dysregulation
burnout and emotional exhaustion
identity exploration and self-understanding
late-identified ADHD and autism
perfectionism, masking, and survival adaptations
relationship and attachment patterns
LGBTQ+ affirming care
life transitions and developmental shifts
feeling emotionally “stuck” or disconnected
My work is relational, affirming, and non-pathologizing- centered on helping clients better understand themselves rather than simply managing symptoms.
What therapy can look like
Therapy with me is collaborative, relational, and responsive to your needs.
Some sessions may focus on present-day stressors, coping strategies, nervous system regulation, or navigating relationships and life transitions.
Other sessions may explore deeper patterns connected to trauma, developmental experiences, identity, masking, attachment, or long-standing survival responses.
I integrate insight-oriented work with practical coping tools, psychoeducation, mindfulness, humor, and meaning-making- creating space for both depth and real-life support.
There’s no single “right way” to do therapy. The process evolves alongside you.
